Our People.
The hearts and hands behind the help.
Paul Hodge.
Founder & Chair Trustee
Picture a dynamic blend of vision, compassion, and a dash of entrepreneurial spirit, and you'll find Paul at the centre of it all.
Back in 2012, Paul embarked on a journey to make a real impact on the lives of others. The result? The inception of Cater Plus Foundation, a testament to his belief in the power of community and the ability to effect positive change.
From the beginning, Paul wasn’t the kind of founder who set things up and stepped aside. He stayed close — listening, learning, and leading with heart. His presence has always been felt, the stories shared, and the genuine connections formed with the people the foundation supports. He has always understood that at the core of this work is humanity.
Fa
“I’ve always believed that if you can help someone, you should. That’s what the foundation is about, showing up when it matters.”
Beyond the formal responsibilities, Paul is still the person you’ll find having a yarn, checking in, celebrating wins, and offering encouragement. He leads with humility and heart — the kind of leadership that doesn’t need a spotlight.
In every sense, Paul Hodge is woven into the foundation’s story. His values shape its direction, his compassion fuels its purpose, and his belief in people continues to inspire every act of support. As The Hodge Foundation grows into its new identity, Paul remains at its heart — steady, genuine, and committed to making a difference where it matters most.
Fast forward to today, and Paul continues to play an active role as a trustee of The Hodge Foundation — the next chapter of the legacy he began. The rebrand reflects not only the evolution of the foundation, but also the values Paul has lived his entire life: service, integrity, kindness, and belief in people.
His role now is one of stewardship and vision. He brings decades of experience — from the New Zealand Army, to building Cater Plus from the ground up, to supporting countless individuals quietly behind the scenes. Paul remains deeply connected to the pulse of the community, always paying attention to where help is needed most and championing the values that guide the foundation today.
