Backing People.
Creating Opportunities.
Making a Difference.
The Hodge Foundation is a family-led New Zealand charity with a simple belief:
Small Acts Big Impacts
Through grants, sponsorships, interest-free loans and quiet acts of kindness, we provide practical support that helps people get back on their feet,
Because sometimes, a little help at the right time can make a big difference.
A family foundation, with an open mind.
The Hodge Foundation has been around since 2012, when we began life as the Cater Plus Foundation.
A lot has changed since then.
We've grown, we've learnt, and we've been lucky enough to have some amazing people and organisations come alongside us.
A New Name. The Same Heart.
Today, we're building The Hodge Foundation in our own way, while keeping the same belief that started it all: if we can help, we should.
We're not here to fit ourselves into one box.
Sometimes that means helping someone through an unexpected financial setback. Sometimes it means supporting a community organisation, backing a great idea, or getting a group of people together for a fantastic day that raises money for a good cause.
We're excited about where we're heading next.
Our Positive Impact
What we’re up to.
The way we make a difference is evolving.
Some of the things we're doing today.
-

1. Golf & Events
Bringing people together
Golf days are one of the ways we're able to bring people together, have a great day and raise meaningful money for causes that matter.
-

2. Community
Backing good people
We support organisations, groups and individuals doing good things in their communities.
-

4. Quiet Kindness
Sometimes it's simply about helping
Not every situation needs a loan or a formal programme. Sometimes a little practical help at the right time can make all the difference.
-

3. Interest Free Loans
A hand up when it's needed
Interest-free loans remain our biggest ongoing area of support, helping people manage unexpected essential expenses without adding interest to the problem.
$20 000
Raised from our recent Golf Day
We're proud to support the work of the RSA and the people and communities they represent.
They're about getting good people together, having a great day and using that energy to give something back.
Our most recent event in September brought people together to raise $20,000 for the RSA.
We're already looking forward to doing it again in December.
And we're just getting started.
Our golf days are more than golf.
Sometimes people just need a hand up.
Interest-free loans remain a big part of what we do.
When an unexpected expense puts someone under pressure, a short-term interest-free loan can provide breathing room without adding interest or hidden fees.
Our loans have helped people deal with essential costs including vehicles, repairs, health expenses, housing and other unexpected challenges.
The programme may evolve over time, but the principle behind it won't:
help people move forward, not get further behind.
Even the smallest act can create lasting impact
This is personal to us.
The Hodge Foundation is family-led, and that's important to us.
We care about the people we support. We care about the communities we're part of. And we love bringing people together around a good cause.
We're fortunate to have the support of some fantastic people and businesses who share that belief.
We're still figuring out exactly where the Foundation will go next — and we're okay with that.
We're open to new ideas, new partnerships and new ways of making a difference
